AGS Laboratories Board of Directors Elects New Chairman

April 7, 2008 -The AGS Laboratories announced today that Ronnie Cox has been elected the new chairman of their Board of Directors. Cox was elected unanimously by the Board at its recent quarterly meeting. He replaces Clayton Bromberg who served as Chairman since 2005.

Owner and Operator of John R Cox and Sons, Inc. in Sweetwater, Texas, Cox has played an integral role in the founding and leadership of AGS Laboratories, and most recently served as Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors.

"Clayton is a hard act to follow, but I'm excited about taking over the reins," said Cox. "I am proud to be the Chairman of the Board for the only laboratory founded to protect the consumer, and the laboratory with the highest grading standards in the industry. It's a great honor."

Cox graduated with a degree in economics from Rice University, and is a Graduate Gemologist , and a Certified Gemologist of the American Gem Society.

Cox Jewelers is a fourth-generation family business that has operated in three centuries - nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first. The business was built on the principles of ethics, honesty and integrity, a founding tenet that Cox notes his store shares with the American Gem Society Laboratories.

In addition to his commitment to the American Gem Society Laboratories, Cox is very involved in the community of Sweetwater. He served as President for the Chamber of Commerce, the Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, Sweetwater Industrial Foundation, and the Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development.
